Pranitha Sridhar, Research Assistant, Kilkari and Mobile Academy Programmes, shares her experience as our first Social Impact Trainee.

After completing BSc (Hons) in Food Nutrition and Dietetics, she pursued Masters in Public Health Nutrition. She has interned with organisations like FMCH and CHETNA, where she gained experience in public health and maternal and child health (MCH).
Pranitha says, “I am driven by the belief that enhancing health and nutrition before and during pregnancy and infancy is crucial to break the cycle of poor health outcomes, which inspired me to join ARMMAN.The first three months of orientation, supported by on-field exposure, was a great learning experience for me as it helped me understand how the programmes align with ARMMAN’s vision and mission.”
In her current position as a Research Assistant, Pranitha plays a key role in supporting the planning and execution of research studies for the Kilkari and Mobile Academy programmes. This includes data cleaning, coding, and analysis, writing reports and academic papers, preparing study proposals and presentations, and conducting field visits for data collection and coordination.
“The hands-on experience which I have received through the Social Impact Trainee (SIT) programme improved my critical thinking skills and also helped me understand the health challenges persisting in the communities. The SIT programme can be a good start for freshers in the public health sector as it helps in developing perspective about how things work and get more programmatic insights and practical experience by interacting with beneficiaries, health care providers and stakeholders.”
The Social Impact Trainee (SIT) program, launched in 2022, aims to provide talented fresh graduates with hands-on experience in ARMMAN’s initiatives. During the three-month orientation, trainees are immersed in various programs across the organization. Upon completing the orientation, they may be considered for placement into different roles within ARMMAN.
