District Officials Commend Mobile Academy For Its Role In Strengthening the Health System
Tamnar block in Chhattisgarh was one of the first blocks where 100% ASHAs (394 ASHAs in total) completed the Mobile Academy (MA) course. This feat was achieved by the collaboration between district officials and ARMMAN’s State Program Manager.
Regular meetings between all stakeholders including ASHAs, facilitated the exchange of ideas but also provided a platform for open communication between stakeholders. The involvement of ASHA workers in decision-making processes empowered them and instilled a sense of ownership in the success of the Mobile Academy course.
At the district level, the Block ASHA Coordinator played a pivotal role in facilitating communication between the ASHA workers and the District National Health Mission (NHM) staff. This collaborative effort also involved the Block District Manager (BDM-NHM) and the Block ASHA Coordinator-SHRC, ensuring that the challenges faced at the grassroots level were effectively communicated to the decision-makers.
The result was a motivated cadre of ASHA workers inspiring and nudging each other to take the Mobile Academy course and successfully completing it.
Mobile Academy is a mobile-based refresher training course for frontline health workers (ASHAs) implemented in partnership with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
