In 2020, Dr. Aparna Hegde and ARMMAN received the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Skoll Foundation stood by us again. We are now honoured to share that this partnership has grown stronger, with a new two-year grant supporting ARMMAN’s work through May 2028, a renewed vote of confidence that means a great deal to us as a past awardee.
Community health workers are central to Skoll’s global health strategy, and ARMMAN’s work of strengthening India’s health workforce and the public health systems around it reflects that same belief: that lasting change comes from those closest to communities, backed by systems strong enough to support them. With this support, we will deepen our focus on high-risk pregnancies and child health conditions, advance Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered tools and two-way communication platforms, and strengthen the public health systems that let this work scale sustainably.
We are deeply grateful to Skoll Foundation for walking with us from award to crisis response, to this next chapter, and we look forward to advancing our shared vision of empowered mothers, healthier children, and stronger health systems, together once again.
