Leveraging technology to create scalable solutions empowering mothers and enabling healthy children

ARMMAN is an India-based non profit organization committed to improving the wellbeing of pregnant mothers, newborn infants and children in the first five years of their life. We design and implement sustainable interventions to reduce maternal, neonatal and child mortality and morbidity in underprivileged urban and rural communities in India.

Our approach is to identify and address systemic gaps in both health services delivery and community health care seeking practices by adopting a multi sectoral evidence based ‘community needs assessment’ approach. The core programmes of ARMMAN make innovative use of technology to develop viable interventions and to maximize outreach.

OUR PROGRAMMES

Free mobile voice call service that sends timed and targeted critical preventive care information to women during pregnancy and infancy.

Kilkari is the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s mobile health education service for pregnant women, new mothers, and their families.

Mobile Academy is the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s IVR-based Reproductive Maternal Neonatal and Child health training course designed to refresh health workers’ knowledge.

Trained nutrition counselors handhold mothers of children with moderate acute malnutrition via weekly calls.

Trains women from the community to provide home-based preventive care, perform diagnostic tests and screen for high risk factors during pregnancy and infancy.

Mobile based tool that ensures that mothers and children with high risk factors are picked up early and referred in time.
